Bostitch PRO-1450 ProzHoze Premium Polyurethane Air Hose
Polyurethane is a classified as a polymer that, depending on its components, can take on different forms. This can be foam, liquid, or solid. As a solid, it can either be rigid and used for seats or packaging crates; or elastic, in which case they are categorized as elastomers, which can be used for manufacturing hand truck wheels or hoses. It is from this type of material that the Bostitch PRO-1450 ProzHoze Premium Polyurethane Air Hose is made.
Polyurethane is durable, resilient, and, in its elastic state, very flexible. It imparts all of these properties to the PRO-1450 ProzHoze, thus giving it sufficient strength to withstand pressures of up to 300 PSI whether in the form of liquid or gas. Also, the hose retains its flexibility even in extreme temperatures ranging from a freezing -40° to a scorching 180°F allowing you to work either in Umiat in Alaska or the Death Valley in California. Its ribbed design further enhances its longevity.
The outer surface of the hose is equally strong. It resists abrasions and thus it remains smooth even when periodically dragged over rough surfaces. Owing to its flexibility, it also resists punctures, bending instead to pressures from outside and returning to its original shape once the pressure is removed.
Notwithstanding these strengths, the hose is extremely lightweight, often by as much as 50% compared to standard hoses, making it well suited for working on the roof or ceiling.
Chemicals normally found in construction and industrial areas are likewise resisted. This makes the hose easy to clean, using only unsoiled pieces of cloth even without cleaning solvents. This also means that the hose cannot be degraded by chemicals that are often harmful to weaker substances.
With the bright yellow color of the hose, it is highly visible even in a cluttered workplace. This is important especially in a busy work area to prevent workers from tripping on it and running it over with heavy wheeled tool carts.
The Bostitch PRO-1450 ProzHoze Premium Polyurethane Air Hose comes with reusable ¼-inch MPT fittings which are field-repairable. The hose is available in lengths of 50 feet with an internal diameter of ¼ inch.
